Soul Mckenzie was born in London, England on December 23rd, 1961. At the age of seventeen, he played the guitar for Jefferson Avenue Baptist church in Brooklyn N.Y. There, the church band had the opportunity to open for Shirley Ceasar. He also toured with Gospel artist Anthony Evans who was featured in the movie Fame. In his early twenties he studied audio engineering, and worked with Philip Smart at HC&F Recording facility. Later he appeared often in issues of Mix Magazine for his audio skills at Power Play studios. In 2005 Soul was the recipient of an award from the South Florida Gospel Music Association for best, "new artist of 2005", for Glory Glory found on his CD, "Butterfly". He can be heard on the "B" 106.3 F.M. , Sugar 900 A.M. , 99.1 F.M. Jamz in South Florida, and other christian radio shows in the Caribbean. Soul currently Leads worship when called upon, and serves at Covenant Centre International as a member of the praise and worship team. His main goal in life is to create, and share christian music for God's kingdom.-
