BIOGRAPHY
Floyd Mckenzie, AKA "Soul Mckenzie", was born in London, England on December 23rd, 1961. As a young man he was involved with the church. At age seventeen, he played the guitar for Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in Brooklyn N.Y. and had the opportunity to open for Shirley Ceasar. He also toured with Gospel Artist Anthony Evans who was featured in the movie fame. In his early twenties he studied and worked with Phil Smart at HC&F Recording Studio as an engineer. Later he appeared in the September 1987 issue of Mix Magazine for his audio skills. Floyd's walk with God intensified, and the name "Soul Mckenzie" was acquired from his belief that we should do everything with our heart, might and soul. Floyd was the recipient of an award from the South Florida Gospel Music Association for best,"New Gospel Artist of 2005",for Glory Glory found on his CD "Butterfly". He can be heard on the "B" 106.3 F.M.,Sugar 900 A.M., 99.1 F.M. Jamz in South Florida and other Christian radio stations in the Caribbean. Floyd currently serves as a member of the praise team at Covenant Centre International. His main goal in life is to create powerful uplifting Gospel music for our father in Heaven.
